For three exciting days, from July 1–3, ADVANTUM welcomed sixteen enthusiastic high school students to its inaugural NextGen Coders Camp, where they discovered that coding is about much more than writing lines of code; it’s about creativity, collaboration, and bringing ideas to life.

Held at the Shipping Association of Jamaica Conference Room, the three-day camp immersed students in hands-on programming activities, where they learned coding fundamentals while developing creativity, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills. Working alongside experienced mentors: Jonmarc Young, Josh Walford and Sydney Chambers, the students collaborated to design and build their own interactive games. The experience gave them the opportunity to develop valuable technical skills while building confidence, problem-solving abilities, and new friendships.

The programme culminated in a Student Project Showcase and Awards Ceremony, where students proudly demonstrated their games to parents, sponsors, mentors, and invited guests.The showcase highlighted just how much the students had accomplished in only three days, and the awards celebrated their creativity, teamwork, and dedication.
